Each member of staff therefore has the freedom to adopt a creative approach to his/her assignments, providing that the trust shown by management in extending such a degree of freedom is warranted. No one is exempt from assuming responsibility for his or her own actions.

The most important management task is to define and communicate each individual member of staff's framework of responsibility. Mac Baren management is competent at delegating responsibility and coaching individual members of staff, enabling them to capitalise on their abilities."
