Hookah
In the hookah sector, Mac Baren Tobacco Company has developed its own Habibi brand.
Habibi has been a success not only in Denmark. Export markets, in particular Russia and France, also buy significant quantities of hookah pipe tobacco.
Hookah pipe tobacco distinguishes itself markedly from traditional tobacco, both in terms of the consistency of the product and the way it is smoked. It contains only 30% Virginia tobacco - the remainder is primarily fructose.
Hookah pipe tobacco, of course, is smoked through a hookah, where the tobacco does not actually burn. High heat streams through the tobacco, meets the water and gives off steam, which the smoker inhales.
